The Hollows
This is a commissioned promotional video for the album ‘The Hollows’ by Kim Thompsett. As this was a promo for the album; and the artwork of the album cover (provided by Gary Williamson) was fantastic; I came up with the concept of bringing his artwork to life. My process of working involved creating digital cutouts of the artwork; which I manipulated into 3 key animated sequences. Also, I not only edited the visuals; but I also edited the audio subtly to give a variation from the Album Tracks.

Storyboard
This is a storyboard I drew up whilst in communication with the client. It was useful to confirm the concept of the video before proceeding to work on it.
This also helped me break down the required work into it's 5 key scenes.
Test Footage
This is a compilation of test pieces to be integrated into the video.
Each little animated piece is lifted from the Album Artwork Illustrations; and turned into 2D Puppets, which I digitally animated. I was particularly pleased with the creatures; as I felt they had a sense of naturalistic life.
These pieces (and many more) were overlaid with the multiplane backgrounds of each scene. The multiplane effect took longer than I was expecting; although I was thoroughly pleased with the overall finished effect. I was exceptionally pleased because this was my first ever attempt at digital animation.
