Abstract Painting, inspired by The Beatles and Stuart Sutcliffe
This painting is based on an untitled painting by Stuart Sutcliffe; with imagery of The Beatles.
Stuart Sutcliffe (23 June 1940 – 10 April 1962) was a Scottish painter and musician best known as the original bass guitarist for the Beatles. Sutcliffe left the band to pursue his career as a painter, having previously attended the Liverpool College of Art. Unfortunately, in April 1962, he died of a brain aneurysm.
Another Musician and Artist, who they knew around the same time, was Klaus Voormann. He later went on to design the iconic 'Revolver' Beatles Album cover.
One question remains; if Stuart Sutclife survived, would he have done an album cover or two? This idea was the inspiration for this painting.
